Picture #2
Didn't get any feedback about the last picture that I posted but I know I need to keep doing this at least for myself. The title I gave picture #1 is "Familiar" this one does have a little story behind it. I was out at some relatives place getting ready to go shoot a family portrait shoot. They have a bunch of land with horses on it at their place. I love horses, always have. There is something about them that is just breathtaking to me and they are just beautiful creatures. So I thought since I had a little time to kill I'd go see if I could get any interesting shots of the horses. I had a few props with me for the shoot and decided to go out into one of the corrals and see what I could come up with. While I was inside the house before I went out, I saw worn pair of cowboy boots with a worn cowboy hat and then I had an older looking chair. So I head out and set up the boots, hat and chair in the corral with all the horses and wait to see what happens if anything, and shoot around it. One of the horses there kept coming around the chair and smelling the boots and hat. Which is normal for horses to check something out once, but to keep coming back over and over again I thought was interesting. Then it hit me that the reason this particular horse kept coming around and smelling the boots and hat is because he could pick up the sent of his owner (my uncle). I ended up snapping that shot at the perfect moment and it ended up being, so far, one of my most favorite pictures yet that I've shot. I think it's incredible how "familiar" that sent was to him and he would not leave those boots or hat alone until I took them out of the corral. So there you have it for picture #1.
Picture #2: Title? Any Story? What, if anything, grabs at you with this picture?

Here We Go......First Picture
I have been trying to do some research on how to develop my talent as a photographer and how to make my pictures better and personalize them eventually and one thing they suggested is setting up a blog where you can post one picture a day of whatever. That way you find things that interest you, practice using your camera and figuring out everything it can do, and work on perfecting yourself and your photos. Now, I already have this website that I haven’t used much, but that’s about to change. I won’t be able to post one picture a day because I still am a full time mom, wife, and am pregnant with twins and have those responsibilities that need to come first. But I am going to try to post 1 to 2 pictures a week. I’ll be starting with some of the pictures that I already have taken and have re-edited and will be posting those until I can get some new ones done. I want and NEED feedback on the pictures; the good, the bad, and the ugly! I’m wanting to know if you like the picture itself- you don’t have to LOVE it cause remember these will be photos that I’m taking for myself that I find interesting so I know that not everybody in the world has the same views I do. I want to know if you think the picture was well shot- in frame, good lighting, and so on. (remember with that one, sometimes I will change the lighting in editing to make the picture look the way I want it to look, but that’s mainly to have something specific in the picture jump out at you; so if you see a picture that looks like bad lighting and nothing significant is standing out in your opinion THAT’S what I want to know) I really enjoy Black & White photos so a lot of my pictures will be just that. Getting the idea here? I have always appreciated feedback in the past on my photos and I have loved the support that I have gotten from many of you. That’s why I feel I can trust your honest opinion. I really hope you do find that you enjoy my work and I do eventually want to possibly work up to have a great portfolio to possibly show in a gallery at least once, someday. Also, if you like any of the pictures enough that you would like to own and decorate with it, I am ALWAYS willing to sell a copy of the pictures. I have done so in the past and that is also my goal is to be able to eventually sell prints.
Alright here is the start to hopefully what will be a successful way to develop my photography work. What I would also like, if you so choose to participate is while looking at the photo, tell me what you think, in the way you see it, it's story and or title of the picture should be. Explore your own artistic side. I'm interested in what others see when they look at my pictures. And then before I put up the next picture I will share what I have titled the picture and or story to it if it has one......Please pass along to any friends or family that would like to participate in giving me feedback on my photos to help me grow as a photographer. Thanks and I hope to hear back from all of you!!!!
I'm going to start out with a picture that is one of my personal favorites to get things going......so.....here we go: You're going to get both versions on this one- Color and B&W
